This is what Sangtar has to say about his blog in his own words:

"As the world gets smaller, regional arts from all around the globe are merging together. Music is one of those arts which has been heavily influenced by globalization. Western music made its permanent journey to India a long time ago and now Indian music is making its mark on the world music scene. Every music type has different ways of processing the same notes (most of the time) in an octave. If you are already a master in one type of music, being familiar with a different type of music will give you another set of tools for the same scales and genres you are currently playing in.

This blog is about Northern Indian music, also referred to as 'Hindustani Music' or sometimes just 'Indian Music'. If you have ever wondered about what Indian music is, where to learn about it, or you have spent years taking lessons (very lucky) and it didn't make any sense, then this blog will answer all your questions. It will cover from very basic to very advanced theoretical and practical material and techniques. My main reason for this blog is to preserve the greatness of Hindustani Music.

Learning music can be hard work but the main thing is to have fun in the learning process. Hard work and patience will get you where you want to go."
